Adrian, MI – Adrian’s East Side residents near Crimson Holdings LLC… an egg processing facility…will soon be asked their opinion on how to spend thousands of dollars worth of grant funding from the company.

As part of an agreement between Crimson and the city, the company will establish a $100,000 grant fund that will be administered by the city as a means to benefit the Adrian citizens impacted by the odors being emitted from the facility.

In addition to that, Crimson was ordered by Lenawee County District Court Judge Laura Schaedler to pay the City $22,750…to be used for workforce development. Adrian City Attorney John Gilooly explains what that means…

In addition to the Adrian City Commission recently talking about how to administer the $22,000, they spent some time talking about the larger sum of money going to impacted East Side residents…

Stay tuned for updates as to how the Adrian City Commission plans to reach out to the impacted area residents. Crimson Holdings is in the process of installing what’s called a ‘scrubber’…meant to reduce odors being emitted. They are still under a court order to only operate certain times of day, and the scrubber must be tested, once installed, to see if it helps with the odors.
