Adrian, MI – Adrian Public Schools recently hosted an informational night for parents-themed ‘Cell Phone, Online Safety, and Social Media,’ delving into crucial aspects of online safety and its legal framework.

The topics covered included the latest laws and regulations to be aware of, the growing issue of cyberbullying, sexting, and sextortion, and other concerning trends in digital behavior, as well as parent controls and oversight.

Michigan State Troopers Isaac Kwiatkowski and Tia Schuttle led the session. Their combined expertise focused on empowering parents with the information and tools necessary to protect their children in the digital age.

Therese Langdon from Parkside Counseling provided parents with practical tips and insights on how to build strong, open lines of communication with their children, fostering a positive parent-child relationship. Langdon also explored the impact of social media on the mental health and overall well-being of young individuals.

Adrian Public Schools will host Parent Informational sessions covering varying topics throughout the school year.
