Catherine Cobb Safe House to Host 8th Annual Everyday Heroes Event

Adrian, MI – The Catherine Cobb Safe House will host its Eighth Annual Everyday Heroes Event in early November. The event will happen on Thursday, November 9th at the Adrian Armory at 6 PM to honor individuals who have shown courage, kindness, and unselfish acts of heroism in the Lenawee County community.

A Heroes Nominating committee of local community leaders met recently to select the award winners from solicited nominations. Honorees will be presented with engraved awards, “Certificates of Honor” from the Catherine Cobb Safe House and tributes from our Michigan State legislators and Congressman Tim Walberg.

This year’s winners are:

Law Enforcement- Deputy Bill Warner, Sheriff’s Department
Fire- Retired Chief Ryan Rank, Madison Fire Department
Medical Professional- Danielle Ward
Animal Rescue-Shaun Maki, Tecumseh Police Sargeant Jeff Wright, Officer Paul Wolf and Officer Tom Gilbert
Youth Good Samaritan (up to age 21)-Devin Plemmons and Garnet Potter IV
Local Military- Austin See, Tecumseh City Council Member
Educator- Ron Schaffner, Clinton High School Science Teacher
Community Hero- Rudy Flores
Mental Health Hero- Socorro Sevilla
Laura Haviland/Human Services Professional- Elizabeth Salerno
A special award will be presented to the agencies and individuals who quickly and compassionately responded to the Riverview Terrace housing crisis.

The public is welcome to attend, and the cost is $75 per person, or $525 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 265-5352, in person at 220 North Main Street in downtown Adrian or online at fccsoflenawee.org.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the trauma-focused domestic and sexual violence services provided by the Catherine Cobb Safe House.
