Adrian, MI – Lenawee County Emergency Management would like to inform the public of a planned, national emergency alert test for tomorrow… Wednesday, October 4th.

LCEM says that this test is something done in advance of an actual emergency, in the interest of public safety.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Communications Commission will conduct a test of the Emergency Alert System and the Wireless Emergency Alerts at 2:20 PM.

EAS alerts will go to radios, televisions and WEA alerts will go to cellular devices.

These alerts are not done through local emergency management; they are sent nationally.

Unless you have opted out through your cellular provider, everyone should receive a WEA. If you do not receive a WEA on your cellular device, contact your cellular provider, not Lenawee County Emergency Management.
