Tecumseh, MI – Joshua Mattison has resigned from his position on the Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education, and has been hired as the Director of Operations at TPS.
In his new role, Mattison will oversee multiple crucial departments within the District, including IT, Facilities and Maintenance, Pool, and Transportation.
He is the Director of Physical Plant for Ann Arbor Public Schools, a title he has held since December 2018. In this role, Mr. Mattison manages the day-to-day operation and maintenance of 37 buildings.
Part of that includes directing a multi-million dollar annual budget, facilities assessments, managing energy efficiency measures, and more. Before this role, he served as TPS’s Director of Facilities and Maintenance. He focused on construction project management, maintenance and custodial operations, and developed budgets during that time.
Interviews for the position were conducted by a panel led by Kelli Glenn, Director of Business Services. The panel also included other TPS administrators, staff members, and the School Resource Officer.
Mattison is expected to begin with TPS in late October. With his resignation from the Board of Education, the Board must fill the position within 30 calendar days after the vacancy occurs.
