Tecumseh, MI – The crew of the “Pelicans” Patrol Squadron VP 45 made history when they landed a P-8A Poseidon, for the first time, at Pituffik Space Base, Greenland…with a Tecumseh native on board.
This is the furthest north this platform has landed. P-8A Poseidon’s have incredible anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
This historic flight, with Lieutenant Phil Carey on board, was during Operation Nanook, which is Canadian Armed Forces’ signature northern operation consisting of a series of comprehensive activities designed to exercise the defense of Canada and to secure their northern regions.
