Adrian Architect Appointed Executive Director of Michigan Historic Preservation Network

Adrian, MI – The Michigan Historic Preservation Network announced the recent appointment of Brenda Rigdon, principal of Black Raven Architects in Adrian, as their new Executive Director.

Rigdon is a registered architect with 26 years of experience in historic preservation and adaptive reuse. Her projects include multiple National Park Service Historic Structure Reports, National Register nominations, and federal historic preservation tax credit applications.

In 2017, she founded Black Raven Architects. As a preservation consultant, her first project restored Chaloner & Co., a tobacco shop in downtown Adrian dating from 1874. Other projects converted a historic church in Ypsilanti to a performance and event space and added residential units to commercial buildings in downtown Jackson.

Rigdon holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan. In addition, she is a certified Housing Development Financing Professional through the National Development Council and an affordable housing advocate. She is currently a member of the Adrian Historic District Commission.
