Tecumseh, MI – Known as “Dr. F”, Filomena Buenaflor, M.D. of Tecumseh recently passed away at the age of 87 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born in 1935 in the Philippines. “Dr. F” married Bienvenido “Dr. B” Guerrero Buenaflor, and they shared 44 years together until his passing in 2010. “Dr. F” started her medical practice with “Dr. B” in 1971 in Tecumseh. After a 50 year successful practice, she retired in 2021.
Both doctors were members of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church since settling in town. Also in the last 50 years, “Dr. F” enjoyed meticulously designing and cultivating her backyard, crocheting, embroidery, planning and throwing grandiose parties, cooking, family road trips and vacations, and was a self-taught pianist.
Visitation for Filomena Buenaflor will be held today from 4-8pm at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 11am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
