Adrian, MI – The Air Quality Division of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lake, and Energy issued a statement about their ongoing investigations into Crimson Holdings in Adrian…an egg-processing facility on Maumee Street.

Jennifer Dixon, the Planning and Policy Coordinator for the AQD said that Crimson submitted an application requesting to install a new packed-bed scrubber to control odors from the existing spray dryer and to incorporate a Nuisance Management Plan for Odors required by both Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and EGLE into their permit.

Dixon said that the company agreed to the taller stack as a first step, and now they have agreed to install a system to control the odorous emissions exhausting through the stack.

Dixon said that concerns can be addressed through the online complaint form, or call this number: 800-292-4706.
