Miss River Raisin Festival Competes in 2023 Miss Michigan Scholarship Program

Muskegon, MI – The Miss Michigan Scholarship Program awarded the Miss Michigan 2023 award to Maya Schuhknecht, who was the Miss Spirit of the State. Maya is from Buchanan, who used a platform titled: Art for All.

The Miss Michigan 1st runner up was Izzy Wallace, Miss St. Clair Shores. Miss Washtenaw County, Cecilia Petrush, was the 2nd runner up. The 24 Miss Michigan contestants and 18 Miss Michigan Teen contestants competed for over $65,000 in scholarship funding at the event in Muskegon.

Lenawee County was represented in Miss Michigan 2023, with Miss River Raisin Festival Rylee Clairday competing. The 21-year-old from Onsted has a social impact initiative titled: ‘disability awareness, breaking barriers and building pathways.’ Miss Michigan has earned the opportunity to compete for the Miss America title.
