Adrian, Mi – A jury in April convicted an Adrian man on four felony counts related to the 2019 murder of Christopher Dickerson. Sentencing for Count Tereso the Almighty Trevino took place Friday morning in Lenawee County Circuit Court.

Trevino was sentenced on four counts: murder, conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation of murder, and gang membership felonies. Lenawee Count Circuit Court Judge Michael Olsaver issued the following sentences for each count:

Counts 1-2: 45-85 years with the Michigan Department of Corrections

Count 3: 37.5-65 years with the Michigan Department of Corrections

Count 4: 15-320 months with the Michigan Department of Corrections

Three additional counts were voluntarily dismissed by the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office.

Trevino, who is 40 years old, is being credited with over 400 days for time already served. He must also pay addition fees and restitution to Tracy Dickerson…Chris’ mother. She gave a statement prior to the punishment. She said that, “I hate this person with every ounce of my being.” She also said that she cannot forgive him. Dickerson thanked everyone who has worked the case to get justice for her son.

During sentencing, Judge Olsaver said that the crime of murdering Dickerson was cold and calculated. He said that in addition to the Dickersons, there are other victims of this crime including Trevino’s family and society, adding that Trevino is a “dangerous person.”

Lenawee County Prosecutor Jacqueline Wyse and Assistant Prosecutor Doug Hartung said that they wanted the court to send a message, and sentence Trevino to the higher end of the sentencing guidelines and have the gang felony be served consecutively after the murder sentences… not concurrently. Judge Olsaver ruled that the sentences will be served concurrently.

Trevino has indicated to the court that he will start the appeals process, filing a request for appointment of appellate council Friday morning.

Trevino’s co-defendant in the murder case, Andrew Cecil, will have a trial later this year. His trial back in April was determined to be a mistrial.
