Washington, D.C. – The National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation recently awarded 103.9 WLEN Radio as the 2023 Celebration of Service to America Award winner for Small Market Radio.
The Celebration of Service to America Awards honors the excellence in community service, philanthropy and impact by local radio and television stations across the country.
The Lenawee County community came together in the summer of 2022 to help the Associated Charities after an arsonist set fire to the building, severely damaging it during ‘the charities’ back to school program.
Through fundraising efforts at WLEN the next two days, over $70,500 was raised in cash and gift cards.
WLEN General Manager Julie Koehn was presented the award by the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation in Washington D.C. at the Service to America Celebration.
