Adrian, MI – What’s next for Adrian’s Community aquatic center, Bohn Pool… repair or replace?

The City Commission was presented with multiple options to replace the 50 year old facility, with the cost ranging from 8.1 to 17.5 million dollars.

A feasibility study was conducted by Counsilman-Hunsaker, and was broken-down into three sections… a Needs Assessment, Facility Program and Space Requirements, and Operations and Business Plan.

The consultant utilized a community survey to gauge what the community likes about the existing pool, and what they would like to see in a potential new aquatic center.

Cost to renovate Bohn Pool would be about 2.1 million, and would leave the pool layout significantly unchanged. Renovating would add an estimated 10-15 years of life expectantly to the pool.

The City Commission was presented with three options for building a new facility…which would be built in a different location within Riverside Park…out of the flood-plain. There were no official actions taken by the Adrian Commission.
