Adrian, MI – The scheduled hearing between the City of Adrian and an egg processing facility on East Maumee Street did not take place in Lenawee County District Court on Tuesday…the original date of the hearing.

Crimson Holdings has been in Judge Laura Schaedler’s courtroom, defending itself against claims made by the city’s legal council…and the state of Michigan Eagle Division … .that smells being emitted from the facility are at a nuisance level.

Judge Schaedler, back in the winter of 2022, ordered the plant to only operate between the hours of 7pm and 7am as Crimson worked on smell remediation. The company installed a 100-foot tall emissions stack by March of 2023.

During the prior hearing date, in early May, testimony by the plant manager revealed that Crimson Holdings violated the order by the Judge on multiple occasions…operating outside of the 12-hour window.

The CEO of Crimson was scheduled to take the witness stand at the prior hearing, but there was not enough time in the afternoon to get the examination completed. An additional date was set for the 23rd…Tuesday.

The hearing was removed from the docket of Judge Schaedler. WLEN News reached out to the City of Adrian, Crimson Holdings, and Judge Schaedler’s office for details…and received no response.
