Monroe, MI – A 2-year-old child died from injuries suffered in a house fire Monday afternoon in Monroe County.
Just before 1pm, first responders received a report of a structure fire in Monroe Charter Township with a child trapped inside.
Immediate entry was made into the home where firefighters located the toddler. The child was transported to ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital where they succumbed to injuries suffered in the fire.
Members of the Monroe County Fire Investigation Team were called in to conduct the investigation and process the scene. The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 734-240-7530.
