
Monroe County, MI – The Chief Financial Officer for Jefferson Schools has been arrested and charged with ‘Children-accosting for immoral purposes’ after a human trafficking prevention operation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office V.I.P.E.R. Task Force took place last week.
30-year-old Keith Williams was charged on 3 other counts in connection to the incident…where police say that he solicited a law enforcement officer posing online as a 14-year-old girl for sexual acts. Here are the charges, in total:
Count 1 – Child Sexually Abusive Activity MCL 750.145c(2)(a) (Maximum 20-year felony)
Count 2 – Computers/Internet – Communicating with Another to Commit a Crime MCL 750.145d(2)(f) (Maximum 20-year felony)
Count 3 – Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes MCL 750.145a (Maximum 4-year felony)
Count 4 – Computers/Internet – Communicating with Another to Commit a Crime MCL 750.145d(2)(c) (Maximum 4-year felony)
Williams was placed on non-disciplinary, paid administrative leave pending further investigation into the off-duty conduct…said Superintendent Nelson Henry in a letter to the Jefferson Schools Community.
Henry said that the district will cooperate with law enforcement on this incident.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that, as with all criminal proceedings, the defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty.
