Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Board of Commissioners voted to approve spending up to $20,000 to contract a third-party to conduct a forensic audit of Lenawee Now.
The economic development group has not been funded by the Board for the last number of fiscal quarters.
There was a lengthy discussion during a recent meeting about Lenawee Now. Some Commissioners were not satisfied with a recent audit conducted that didn’t show any issues financially…but was admittedly not as thoroughly as a forensic audit.
The former executive director of Lenawee Now, and current County Commissioner, Jim Van Doren… supported voting to pay for the new report. The commission as a whole voted unanimously to move forward.
