Adrian, MI – The Adrian community celebrated Cinco de Mayo this weekend, with local bands providing entertainment, First Fridays festivities, and a Saturday afternoon parade.
The events on Saturday, Adrian’s 23rd annual Cinco de Mayo Parade and Festival, were named after the late Chico Martinez.
The community leader and activist passed away at the age of 56 from lung cancer in November of 2022.
The Cinco de Mayo holiday celebrates the Mexican army’s victory over France on May 5th, 1862, at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War.
