Palmyra, MI – Theodore “Ted” Dusseau passed away at the age of 93 earlier this week.
He grew up on a salvage yard, in Lenawee Junction, Palmyra, the home of the original Dusseau Auto Parts. He would later open a salvage yard of his own located on Treat Hwy in 1950.
The yard carried the same Dusseau moniker and was also one of the staples of the Treat Hwy Automotive Mile. The business has withstood 73 years. Up until a couple months ago you could still find Ted behind the counter in the shop.
He started his political career serving on the Madison School board, Madison Township Supervisor, the Lenawee County Chapter of the Republican Party. He served as the party’s chairperson for thirty plus years.
He announced football games at Madison School for over 30 years. He was also an umpire for many years. Ted’s 93 years of life ended on Monday, with his wife of 74 years, Glenalee, holding his hand.
Visitation and funeral services took place Thursday. There will be a private burial at Palmyra Cemetery.
