Jasper, MI – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Sand Creek Highway and Packard Road Wednesday morning sent a 38-year-old Sand Creek man to the hospital in critical condition.
Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the crash at the intersection of Sand Creek Highway and Packard Road in Fairfield Township at around 10:20am.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies, a 2002 Honda CRV, driven by a 38-year-old male from Sand Creek, was traveling eastbound on Packard Road. The Sheriff’s Office says that the Honda CRV failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Packard Road and Sand Creek Highway and struck a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by a 69-year-old male from Brighton, that was traveling northbound on Sand Creek Highway.
The driver of the Honda CRV was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was conscious when Paramedics arrived and was transported to Toledo Hospital with serious injuries. He is currently listed in critical condition at a Toledo Hospital. The occupants of the Chrysler Pacifica were wearing their seatbelts. The driver was uninjured and the passenger, a 72-year-old female from Brighton, was transported to Hickman Hospital with minor injuries. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene and the crash is under further investigation. The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Fairfield Twp Fire Department, the Madison Twp Fire Department and the Tecumseh Police Department.
