Tecumseh, MI – A woman’s body was found dead Tuesday morning in a wooded area in the City of Tecumseh. A release by the Police Department said that officers were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of South Maumee Street at 8:47am regarding the discovery of the deceased subject.
The subject was discovered by a person conducting property maintenance. Upon initial investigation, TPD says that it appeared the subject had been in that location for a period of weeks…and that it appears to be a that of a white female approximately 40-50 years old. The department later clarified that the incident is not related to the ongoing Dee Warner investigation.
Chief Brett Coker said that more information will become available pending a cause of death and positive identification of the subject by the Lenawee County Medical Examiner. It is not believed that there is any threat to the public.
The Tecumseh Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, the Tecumseh Fire Department, Lenawee Community Ambulance, the Lenawee County Drone Team, and the Lenawee County medical Examiner’s Office. If you have information on the incident, contact the TPD.
