Adrian, MI – The Kiwanis Club of Adrian will kick-off their 12th year of the Avenue of the Flags project this Memorial Day…where they will install nearly 1,500 American flags on the lawns of residents and businesses.
The club has announced that they will add Juneteenth to the list of holidays that are honored as the flags fly. The list of holidays include Memorial Day, Flag Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Patriot Day, and Veteran’s Day.
Club President and Flag Committee Chair Lynne Punnett said, quote, “Over 1,000 subscribers and 130 volunteers who give more than 3,000 hours of their time make this project possible and $45,000 is raised at this point, every dollar of which goes back into the community.”
To receive a flag in time for Memorial Day, orders must be received by May 15th. The club welcomes orders throughout the year, which will be installed as soon as possible. One flag costs $45 for all seven holidays and three or more flags in one location are $35 each.
