Adrian, MI – Renovations on the Lenawee County Historical Museum will begin with breaking ground on May 17th.

That will be the date for work to officially start on the renovation and restoration of the Carnegie Library, home to the Lenawee Historical Museum.

According to the museum’s newsletter, the work will be in four phases. Phase 1 will seal and waterproof the foundation and repair/install an exterior drainage system to carry water away from the foundation.

Phase 2 will be to paint all exterior wood surfaces. Phase 3 will be to seal all above-grade masonry, stone and terra cotta surfaces. Phase 4 will repair the existing water and moisture damage to the interior wall and ceiling surfaces in the exhibit spaces. This will include storage spaces, common areas and the auditorium on the first and second floors.
