Woodstock Twp., MI – A 39-year-old Jackson man died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on US 223 in the area of Rollin Highway Tuesday night. The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office says that the crash occurred at around 8:17pm.
Deputies determined that a gray Lincoln MKZ SUV was heading eastbound on U.S. 223 at a high rate of speed in the process of overtaking several vehicles. The driver, the 39 year old man from Jackson lost control, crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with a white Lexus GS passenger car traveling westbound.
The man was ejected from his vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Lexus, a 40 year old New Jersey man was critically injured and taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson.
Names of the crash victims are being withheld until notification of the family and completion of the investigation.
