Adrian, MI – The Chris Dickerson murder trial continued Thursday in Lenawee County Circuit Court…it was the third day in a row on the docket.
Andrew Cecil and Count Tereso The Almighty Trevino are co-defendants in the case…and both are charged with multiple felonies in connection with the death of Dickerson back in 2019.
The plaintiffs in these cases are ‘The People’ …represented by Jacqueline Wyse and Douglas Hartung. They laid-out their case in their Opening Statement on Wednesday. They are attempting to ‘paint the picture’ that both defendants were involved in the death of Dickerson in January of 2019… and that the killing of him was gang related.
Wyse and Hartung did not say that Trevino and Cecil killed Dickerson, but are arguing that they had a hand in it. The People said that Cecil stabbed Dickerson in May of 2018 over a dispute about a woman. Dickerson did not die from those injuries. Wyse and Hartung said that Cecil had Dickerson killed before he could testify in Cecil’s trial in relation to the stabbing.
The defense lawyers… Stanley Sala, Christie Harrah, and James Daly… in their opening arguments, argued that their clients were not involved in Dickerson’s murder. They also raised questions about the credibility of future witness testimony brought forward by The People.
Thursday in Judge Michael Olsaver’s courtroom, The People brought several witnesses to testify…Tracena Dickerson…Chris’ mother, Adrian Police Detective LaMar Rufner, the Chief Medical Examiner for Lenawee County Bader Cassin, Christopher Carden, and DeAndrew Woodard.
