Bob Behnke Announces He Will Run For Adrian City Commission

Adrian, MI – Adrian resident Bob Behnke announced today that he has he is running for one of the three commissioner seats that will be decided by voters this year.

Behnke said: “I am proud to call the City of Adrian my home and look forward to using my experience and knowledge of the community to serve our residents,”

While Behnke served as Superintendent of Adrian Public Schools, he also served as President of the Adrian District Library, Board Member of the Lenawee Boys and Girls Club, City of Adrian Human Relations Commissioner and was a past member of the Lenawee County Planning Commission.

Behnke currently serves as President Nominee of the Adrian Noon Rotary Club, and is a member of The M Society.

Some of Behnke’s goals for his service on the commission include, advocating for a new strategic plan, as well as instituting expectations when evaluating all city employees.  He also wants to investigate the City’s aging water system and work with the current police chief on reduction of violent crime and is in support of increasing staffing level support for the police and fire departments.

There will be 3 commission seats on the ballot this year for the City of Adrian, as well as the office of Mayor.
