Clinton, MI – A canine unit of the Michigan State Police was able to locate a suspect of a domestic violence incident hiding in a barn after a police chase in the Village of Clinton Thursday morning.
Clinton Police Chief, Tony Cuevas told WLEN News Thursday that the department responded to the incident that originated on East Church Street near Clinton High School.
The suspect in the assault fled on foot out the back of the home, jumping the fence at the Clinton High School football field and ran across it. Out of caution, Clinton Police notified the school district to have a low level lockdown in place for the safety of the students and staff.
With the assistance of the Tecumseh Police Department, Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan DNR, and Michigan State Police, the suspect was located in a barn in the backyard of a residence in the 200 block of East Michigan Avenue.
Also, in a bit of miscommunication, Hudson Area Schools received a message from the County about a fleeing suspect at around 9am Thursday. The school went into a brief lockdown.
