Madison Twp., MI – A 72-year-old man has been arraigned on open murder charges for the killing of his wife, Cathy Ann Maples. The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office says that Stephen Sevedus Maples is being held on a $1.1 million bond.
Investigators are working on information regarding the firearm involved.
Friday night at about 9pm, the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office and Madison Township Police Department were dispatched to a report of a domestic violence incident on Baldwin Highway in Madison Township involving a shooting.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies, upon their arrival at the residence they discovered Cathy Maples deceased in the house from apparent gunshot wounds. The suspect, Stephen Maples, was taken into custody Friday, and was lodged at the Lenawee County Jail.
