Lenawee County, MI – Lenawee County’s two largest cities have scheduled tree limb and yard waste pick-ups to help residents clean-up after the ice storm swept through southern Michigan last week.

In Adrian, the city will be picking up brush and branches…no longer than about 6 feet…this week through Friday, March 3rd. You must have branches at the club by 7am Friday. Adrian City staff reminds residents that this is not a leaf pick-up at this time – spring yard waste collection will take place in April.

Adrian’s compost site will be open as well… from Noon to 7pm this Tuesday and Thursday, and 8am until 2pm Saturday and Sunday

In Tecumseh… City crews are also helping residents clean-up the aftermath of the storm. Tecumseh residents will also start with tree limb pick-up this week. Here are the specifics:

· Have any tree limbs and brush from the ice storm damage to the curb no later than Thursday, March 2nd. Place them between the sidewalk and curb in organized piles.
· Cut the limbs and brush into reasonable sized pieces that can be lifted into the back of a truck by a single person. As a guide, they should not be any more than ~8 ft. in length or more than ~50 lbs.
· Large trunk sections and oversized limbs from private trees will not be picked up. You should contact a tree removal service or landscape contractor to dispose of these larger items.
· DPW crews will be systematically going through the City to pick up limbs and brush, but there is no specific route.
· It may take 2 weeks (until ~March 10) to get to all the locations in the City. Please be patient, as there is a large amount of debris in addition to the DPW’s regular duties.
· After the initial limb and brush pick-up, the DPW will be back to remove severely damaged street trees. Private trees are the responsibility of the property owner.
