Adrian, MI – A local resident announced the creation of a fund through the Lenawee Community Foundation to help pay for new fees for parades and street fairs in the City of Adrian.

At Monday night’s public comment section of the Adrian City Commission Regular Meeting Monday night, Bob Behnke talked about the creation of the Adrian Diversity Parade and Street Fair Fund… a 501c3 fund as part of the Lenawee Community Foundation.

The fund was created in an effort to help keep parades and events in the City of Adrian…such as Cinco de Mayo Parade, Pride Parade, and NAACP events.

Donations and funds raised will pay for parade and street fair fees. Behnke said that Meijer, Midwest Energy & Communication, and private donors have established a $3 to $1 match for all donations up to $1,500 raised.

To make a donation go to lenaweecommunityfoundation.com and click on the ‘Donate Now’ button. Specify: ‘Adrian Diversity Parade and Street Fair Fund’ in your donation notes.

Donations can also be made at their building on West Maumee Street in Adrian, with a note on the memo line of ‘Adrian Diversity Parade and Street Fair Fund.’
