Clinton, MI – The Schmidt & Sons Pharmacy location in the Village of Clinton has closed their doors, and will merge with their Tecumseh store.
The local pharmacy said that in recent years, pressures exerted upon independent pharmacies by insurance companies and pharmacy benefit managers have made continued operations difficult across the nation.
These entities control patient access to independent pharmacies and continue to reduce reimbursements for the products and services we provide. Those factors are why Schmidt and Sons Pharmacy decided to merge pharmacies.
Prescription records and files will be securely transferred to Schmidt & Sons Pharmacy of Tecumseh, on East Chicago Boulevard. The pharmacy will be filling prescriptions for their Clinton patients from the Tecumseh location.
They plan to expand delivery services to the Clinton and Manchester communities for those patients who wish to take advantage of that service.
