Adrian, MI – There was a recent vote in Lansing to repeal the retirement tax on seniors…which passed the State House of Representatives 67-41.
How did Lenawee County Reps vote on the bill?
- Democrat Reggie Miller, who represents Lenawee’s Macon Township, voted ‘yes’.
- Republican William Bruck, a Republican representing Ridgeway Township Deerfield Township and part of Blissfield Township, voted ‘present.’
- Republican Andrew Fink, a Republican who represents the City of Hudson, voted ‘no’.
- The rest of Lenawee County is represented by Dale Zorn…who also voted ‘no’.
The bill will now be sent to the State Senate to be voted on. Supporters say that the repeal of the retirement tax will allow Michigan seniors to do better on a fixed income. Opponents have said that the bill does not go far enough to provide relief.
