
Blissfield, MI – The founder of Lena’s Italian Restaurant in Blissfield has passed away.
76-year-old Maddalena ‘Lena’ Zanger of Monroe died on January 6th, in her home, with her family at her side.
Born in Sicily, Lena came to Monroe in 1969 with a tenacious work ethic, full of delicious recipes.
In 1994 Lena realized one of her lifelong dreams and opened her first restaurant, Lena’s Pizza and More in Lambertville. She opened Lena’s Italian Restaurant in Blissfield in 2000. Lena’s cuisine was second to none.
In 2010, she achieved another major accomplishment when she became an American Citizen. Services have already taken place for Maddalena Zanger.
