Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Board of Commissioners recognized PlaneWave Instruments, a telescope manufacturer in Adrian, as a champion within the industry.
Their PW1000 telescoping system was recently named by the Michigan Manufacturers Association as the Coolest Thing Made in Michigan.
The telescope is a state-of-the-art 1-meter observatory-class robotic telescope featuring a direct-drive mounting system, designed specifically for scientific discovery and installed at some of the leading research institutions around the world. The PW1000 stands over 12 feet tall and weighs 3,000 pounds.
