Jefferson Twp, Hillsdale County – One woman died in a Jefferson Township house fire earlier this week.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office reports that emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Hudson Road, near Lake Avenue, for a report of a fully involved house fire at about 7:45am Monday.
Deputies were the first on scene, and attempted to gain entry into the mobile home, but were forced back by heavy flames and thick smoke. The Jefferson Township Fire Department arrived on scene and were able to extinguish the blaze.
It was confirmed that one female did perish as a result of the fire. A second female and a male were taken to Hillsdale Hospital by Hudson Area Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.
