Adrian, MI – Crimson Holdings, LLC, the egg processing facility on East Maumee Street in Adrian is currently operating only 12 hours a day, after a court order from Lenawee County District Court Judge Laura Schaedler.
The ruling came down after the City of Adrian took the company to court over citizens’ complaints of the smells being emitted from the facility…which used to make powdered milk, but switched to making powdered eggs about a year ago.
Once a new 100 foot exhaust tower is built, then the company can continue with their ‘day shift’ and ‘night shift’…and the smell issue will be re-evaluated.
In response to WLEN’s coverage of this story, many residents asked about the marijuana odors being emitted from facilities in Adrian as well. So WLEN News asked City Attorney John Gillooly to explain the differences between the two, and how they are regulated…
Gillooly says that if residents have complaints about facilities that are emitting noxious odors, the City can take action…
