Lenawee County, MI – During the recent Lenawee County Legislative Dinner, a 2022 Legislative Update was given to the community, led by Administrator Kim Murphy. Administrator Murphy spoke to WLEN News about the biggest projects of the year, stating the opening of the Historic County building was one of the largest. Here is the full clip with Administrator Murphy…

Part of the larger update included the needs of the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Troy Bevier spoke with WLEN News stating that new additions to their fleet were a top priority, but, similar to the supply chain on the consumer side of vehicles, there is a delay due to the current demand for vehicles. Sheriff Bevier also explained that they would be moving away from the Dodge Charges, due to the company phasing them out, and moving to the purchase of the Chevy Tahoe. During the dinner, there was an update on the Lenawee County Road Commission. Scott Merillat, Managing Director for the Commission, spoke directly about some of the success this year. The Deerfield Road Bridge project was one of the largest successful projects that started in late winter and was completed mid November, a few days ahead of projected schedule.

Another bridge project that was successfully completed was the Sand Creek Bridge. The bridge had been out for over five years before a partnership with the State of Michigan and their Bridge Bundling Program allowed for full funding of the project. Due to the partnership, the bridge was completed at no cost to Lenawee County tax payers. Here is Merillat’s full response…
