Monroe, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough is reporting the apprehension of a subject involved in a fleeing and eluding and stolen vehicle incident that originated in Toledo.
The incident began when Monroe County Central Dispatch received information of a stolen vehicle traveling along northbound I-75, entering Michigan. Toledo Police reported the vehicle to be a yellow 2014 GMC box van stolen from Perrysburg, which failed to stop for police after being actively pursued within their jurisdiction.
A short time later, a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed the yellow GMC.. and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver, a 37 year old male from Monroe was immediately taken into custody and arrested without incident for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Additional charges of fleeing and eluding are being investigated by the Toledo Police Department.
