Lenawee County NAACP Holds 28th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet Sunday in Adrian

Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Chapter of the NAACP held their 28th annual Freedom Fund banquet Sunday evening at Adrian College.

The featured guest speaker was Doctor Pamela Pugh, (pictured below) who has over twenty-four years of experience in the field of public health with emphasis on achieving health equity through environmental justice.

Dr. Pugh was elected to the State Board of Education in 2014, and currently serves as its vice president. She talked to WLEN News about her message for the people at the banquet…

 

The Adrian Friends of Farm Works was the recipient of the Heritage Award. Rudy Flores presented the award.

The banquet is the largest fundraiser for the Lenawee County Chapter.

The music group Los Hermanos Villegas was the recipient of the Community Service Award. Renee Gonzales presented the award.
