Dundee Twp., Monroe County – The Michigan State Police Monroe Post issued an update on their investigation into a crash that seriously injured an employee of Stevens Disposal, Donnie Cooper.

On September 15th, Troopers were dispatched to the car vs pedestrian crash on West Lloyd Rd.

The scene was processed by troopers and a traffic crash reconstructionist. The traffic reconstructionist concluded the vehicle that struck the Stevens Disposal employee was  traveling at approximately 44 mph in a 55 mph zone.

The constructionist further  indicated the exposure time for a walking or running pedestrian after appearing from behind the garbage truck is not enough for a driver to avoid the collision.

At this time, the Michigan State Police Monroe Post is not seeking charges against the  driver, and will be forwarding this incident to the  prosecutor’s office for their review and decision.
