Palmyra Twp., MI – A 61-year-old Palmyra Township man died in a motorcycle-pickup truck crash at US 223 and Ogden Highway this morning.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release this Tuesday morning that the crash occurred at around 6am.

Deputies determined that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Ogden Highway and stopped at the intersection of US 223. They say that the motorcyclist failed to yield and was struck by a full-size pick-up truck traveling westbound on U.S. 223.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed does not appear to be a factor and no drugs or alcohol are suspected. The name of the deceased is being withheld until notification of the family, and completion of the investigation.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by traffic investigators from the Michigan State Police and the Sheriff’s Office Victim Service Unit. Other agencies assisting were the Madison Township Police Department, Madison Township Fire Department, Palmyra Township Fire Department and the Lenawee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
