Tecumseh, MI – The Tecumseh Police Department reported that they are investigating an alleged incident with the Middle School Cross Country Team and a potential encounter with a male while they were practicing.
The department said in a public notice that the alleged incident happened at approximately 3:15pm on September 6th on the Indian Trails path.
Several athletes reported seeing a white male with black hair and black shorts, smoking a cigarette. It was reported that the male had approached a couple of the students attempting to strike up a conversation. It is unclear if the male made any attempts to touch any of the students, although that is what is being reported on social media. It should be noted that the coaches were also running with the students, and it is unclear if they witnessed this reported interaction.
The Tecumseh Police are investigating this matter and coaches and athletes will continue to be interviewed. Once the investigation is completed or if any further pertinent information becomes available, TPD will update school officials and the public.
