Local Children Open Lemonade Stand to Help Associated Charities After Fire

Adrian, MI – Last week, the Lenawee County community showed their overwhelming support for the Associated Charities after their back-to-school program was derailed due to a suspected arson at their building on Tecumseh Street in Adrian.

The Lenawee County radio stations facilitated a donation drive, collecting cash, checks, and gift cards to give to the charities so that they can be distributed to families in need. In total, the two day effort raised over $70,000.

About $100 of that total was raised by two children from Adrian, Isaiah and Cassidy. They set up a lemonade stand on the 300 block of Church Street. They did the stand for two days…the first day was to raise money for Cassidy’s Elementary School Art Teacher..

The second day’s earnings were donated to the Associated Charities. Cassidy and Isaiah talked to WLEN News about how they felt giving back to their community…
