Lenawee County Board Chair Declares ‘State of Emergency’ in Response to Riverview Terrace Situation in Adrian

Adrian, MI – Lenawee County Board of Commissioners Chair, David Stimpson, declared a “state of emergency” in response to the Riverview Terrace situation in Adrian.

A news release by Lenawee County Friday afternoon said that:

“On July 25, 2022, the City of Adrian experienced the failure of a multi-story residential structure housing approximately 200 vulnerable individuals. As a result of this situation, those individuals have been displaced and are without shelter and other life necessities.

Therefore, as Chair of the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners, in accordance with section 10 of Act 390, P.A. 1976 as amended, I hereby declare that a “state of emergency” exists therein and that response and recovery aspects of the emergency operations plan have been activated within the City of Adrian, and that local resources are being utilized to the fullest possible extent.”
