Adrian, MI – Community residents who would like to send video to the Lenawee County Central Dispatch can now do so.
Sheriff Troy Bevier made the announcement in a post on the office’s Facebook page that they have partnered with a company called Prepared to accomplish the live video streaming.
The technology allows 911 callers to livestream video in real time, which may significantly improve the Sheriff’s Office’s ability to effectively and efficiently respond to emergencies in the community.
To participate in a video 911 call, consent by the caller is required. If they do consent, they will receive a livestream link via text from the Dispatcher enabling them to activate live video.
Lenawee County Central Dispatch has assured that the process does NOT give them access to the contents or settings of a caller’s phone
