Tecumseh High School Principal Placed on Leave

Tecumseh, MI – Tecumseh High School’s Principal Dennis Niles has been placed on paid, non-disciplinary leave, following an allegation made against him.

A statement issued by TPS, on Friday, May 27th, Superintendent Rick Hilderley was made aware of an allegation against Principal Niles. Per TPS policy, Hilderley took swift action in placing Mr. Niles immediately on non-disciplinary leave.

Mr. Niles will remain on paid, non-disciplinary leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Also per TPS policy, the matter was turned over to the Tecumseh Police Department for review. However, the Tecumseh Police Department has conducted their investigation and determined there was no criminal activity and therefore are not handling the investigation at this point.

Superintendent Hilderley will be acting principal for Tecumseh High School for the duration of this investigation.  At this time, TPS said that they will have no further comment as the investigation is ongoing.
