Lenawee County, MI – Midwest Energy & Communications is lifting up communities in its service territory with the Building Vibrant Communities grant program.
In May, MEC awarded dollars to nine nonprofits, including two in Lenawee County. Associated Charities of Lenawee County will use their funding for their back to school program which provides supplies and necessities for children from low-income households. Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Michigan’s funding will be used for weekly music classes and therapies for those with disabilities.
The grant program, made possible by partnership dollars from MEC’s power supplier Wolverine Power Cooperative, awards grant money to nonprofit organizations serving individuals in MEC’s service territory.
