Adrian, MI – Lenawee County Government will receive a total of about 19 million dollars in American Rescue Plan Act funding, but the process of allocating it has been delayed.

The Personnel Ways and Means committee met on Tuesday morning to review the recommendations of a sub-committee tasked with deciding who would get what funding.

The proposal included 10 million dollars towards Project Phoenix, a community multi-use complex planned for the old Tecumseh Products site. Some members of the Committee had concerns with one item taking-up over 50 percent of the ARPA funds.

That, along with the recommendation of spending about 16 million of the 19 million dollars…leaving the rest to be decided later, was enough for the Ways and Means committee to vote to send the proposal back to the subcommittee.
