Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Health Department, in accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, is updating guidance on masking.

A release issued by the LCHD today (on Tuesday) said that decreases in cases and hospitalizations and increased access to vaccines, testing, treatment and masks indicate that we are entering a post-surge, recovery phase of the pandemic.

Residents should consider their individual and family members’ risk factors and vaccination status when making the personal decision whether to mask.

MDHHS and LCHD recommend that all individuals continue to mask in high-risk congregate settings including long-term care facilities, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, jails and health care facilities. All individuals should also wear a mask during isolation and quarantine periods.

Lenawee County Health Department will adjust recommendations based on changes in the current phases outlined by MDHHS.
