Adrian, MI – A shooting at the Maple Village Apartments in Adrian sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries Sunday night.
Lenawee County Central Dispatch obtained information that there were at least two vehicles involved. According to a news release issued by the Adrian Police Department Monday morning, officers located an innocent bystander who had been injured by shattered glass, when the vehicle they were seated in was struck by gunfire.
The suspect vehicle and the intended target vehicle both fled the area after the shooting, and before police arrived.
The occupants of the targeted vehicle returned to the scene and are cooperating with officers in the investigation. A person of interest has been identified.
The injured person was transported to Hickman Hospital in Adrian Township for treatment of minor injuries.
Adrian Police were assisted at the scene by the Lenawee County Sheriff Department Patrol & Dispatch Center, Michigan State Police, Madison Township Police and the Adrian Fire Department.
